X AVANT XVI: Process - October 16

An 8 hour day dedicated to droooooooooooone.

Our first couple of events of X Avant dive into discomfort. Artists and attendees speak truths that can be taxing, that can break open hearts and show them to the world. An aspect of art and performance, I believe, that is critical to the advancement of humanity.

Now that we have heard voices and experiences, stories, and calls to action, we must reflect and heal. Today is dedicated to the global thread of sustained tone as a healing modality. As a rooting modality.

18 artist, 8 hours, visuals, surround sound and spaces to lay down. A full day dedication to sonic washing.

ACCESSIBILITY

918 Bathurst, is not currently wheelchair accessible due to stairs (two half-flights to enter the performance space, and one flight to access the washrooms). This event will have projected visuals, includes amplified sound and will not include additional scents

We will have ear plugs, sunglasses, and a ‘therapeutic room’ for those that need it. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to sanjeet@musicgallery.org. 

COVID POLICY

All of our events will be reduced capacity (20% of the room). Masks will be required to be worn at all times unless explicitly mentioned otherwise. 

Following government mandating, we will update information around vaccine passports on September 22.
