Event Description

Library Lion and Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Strout speaks about the return of her most unforgettable character.

Olive Kitteridge, the acerbic math teacher of Crosby, Maine, draws an exacting opinion of all who cross her path. She is abrasive and a bit cruel, but also deeply empathetic, a combination so unabashedly human, that when readers first encountered her in 2008, they took her into their hearts, never to be forgotten. The book went on to win the Pulitzer Prize and a miniseries adaptation starring Frances McDormand earned six Emmys. Olive has never left Strout, and a decade later the prickly protagonist returns, along with her creator, who both have much more to say.

Strout is joined by Benjamin Dreyer, author of the New York Times bestselling Dreyer's English, and the vice president, executive managing editor and copy chief, of Random House.
