ABOUT THE SLACKERS |||

Since 1991, The Slackers have been performing what Bandleader Vic Ruggiero, calls "Jamaican Rock N' Roll." You can hear in their rhythms the sounds of Jamaican roots music like those done by The Skatalites and Early Wailers but its sung with a New York accent, and their original songs are written from an American perspective. Their reworking of genre, sounds something similar to what Bob Dylan, the Sonics, or the Rolling Stones would have sounded like if they grew up on as much Reggae and Ska as they did R&B.

ABOUT THE SNAILS |||

The Snails are an eclectic act specializing in various forms of Jamaican music, blended with ragged 50's rock 'n' roll and the sweet sounds of American soul. Todd Fausnacht fronts the band on lead guitar and vocals, complemented by Tim Hildebrand on rhythm guitar. The driving beats spring from the rhythm section with Josh Parry on drums, Ben Parry on bass, and Matt McLeod on organ. Though Fausnacht's vocals lead the group, it is not uncommon for the voices of all five members to come together in cascading harmony.

Fausnacht describes The Snails’ music as “poetry dressed with tune,” although the band comes off as an aggressive, energetic outfit. After extensive touring in support of their latest release, “Songs From The Hydrogen Jukebox Vol. 1 and 2”, The Snails have recently returned from a brief hiatus. With new material and familiar vibes The Snails set out to bring their brand of floor stompin’ sounds to audiences nationwide.
