Atrocity Exhibition

Morose and Macabre’s annual event The Atrocity Exhibition celebrates 6 years of bringing the strange and unusual to Pittsburgh’s South Side.

Each year, Morose and Macabre’s House of Oddities brings together artists from around the country to take part in The Atrocity Exhibition, a bizarre night of performance and art that tells a horribly wonderful story. This years Exhibition is entitled “Museum of Dreams” and they invite you to experience a place that rests deep within slumber where the Sandman is the curator of the Boogeyman’s collection of night terrors.

“We create a 360 degree living art installation with the most talented people we know” says Macabre Noir, co-founder of the event.

The Atrocity Exhibition is noted for its mix of unusual sideshow, cabaret, burlesque, and performance art, as well as its Artisan Market that features one of a kind handmade art for those of a darker sensibility.

Returning for her fourth year as the ring mistress and host, is Pittsburgh’s own Cherri Baum (The Boogeyman) and joining her is co-host and 6 year Atrocity veteran, Lilith Deville (The Sandman). Performances will include the cabaret/sideshow stylings of Phat Man Dee (Pittsburgh), Vinsantos (New Orleans), Satori Circus (Detroit), Xander Lovecraft (St. Louis) Rev. Decay (Harrisburg), Andrew The Impaled (Pittsburgh), Nick Noir (Pittsburgh), Macabre Noir (Pittsburgh), and beautiful burlesque by Penny De La Poison (Pittsburgh), The Countess Von Tella (Pittsburgh), and Cherry Von Bomb (Charlotte), and Lita Diverges (Pittsburgh).

The Atrocity Exhibition “Museum of Dreams” will be Saturday, May 17th at The Rex Theater, 1602 E. Carson Street, in Pittsburgh’s famous Southside. Advance tickets are $15 ($17 at the door) and can be purchased from moroseandmacabre.com or from any of the local entertainers. Doors open at 9:00pm, show starts at 10:00, no one under the age of 21 will be admitted.
