WHAT: The LAF Supper is a comedy/musical about a disillusioned yet hopeful idea-machine-of-a-man who after years of Hollywood rejection attempts to join a monastery convinced they'll embrace his brilliance as he singlehandedly sets out to rebrand the church's long-suffering image
WHO: Written & Performed by Steve Mackall. Mackall has won numerous awards as a writer/producer in commercial and broadcast Advertising, been honored for his charitable work with the American Red Cross and Athletes and Entertainers For Kids, is an Emmy nominated writer, the recipient of HBO's "Comic Of The Airwaves" Award and a Finalist in the 15th Annual American Songwriters Competition.
He has voiced commercials and promos for all the major television networks and is currently heard on NBC, promoting "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "Saturday Night Live." Steve created/wrote and produced "The Blanket Show", starring Forest Whitaker and David Hyde Pierce and has two produced feature films to his credit, the mob comedy "Avenging Angelo," starring Madeleine Stowe, Anthony Quinn, and Sylvester Stallone and the drama/comedy "Stealing Cars," starring William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Emory Cohen and John Leguizamo.
Mackell's first solo show ʻWherever I Go, There We Are', inspired the Los Angeles Times to label the Cleveland native "The man who can do the impossible." Steve is thrilled to return to the Santa Monica Playhouse for the world premiere benefit performances of ʻThe LAF Supper'.
