Songs that Made the Movies

Following the sold out performance of 2013, The Picture House and Mary and The Boys proudly presents the all-new “Songs That Made The Movies 2,” an innovative live music and film show featuring onstage performances by adults and kids of iconic movie songs, from the big musicals of Hollywood’s golden age through today. Local musicians and singers bring to life classic tunes such as “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend,” “Summertime” and “The Way We Were,” as well as later offerings like “Jailhouse Rock” and “Footloose.”

Each song is introduced by a short audiovisual commentary that reveals fascinating details about the films, actors, singers, songwriters and producers. Did you know that Jailhouse Rock was directed by the original director of The Wizard of Oz? Come join us for a unique movie music experience. Learn about, and listen to, some of the greatest songs from the silver screen. All the performers and musicians donate their time and talents so that proceeds goes directly to support The Picture House.
