SEJ Public Events

The public is invited to join the Society of Environmental Journalists' 23rd Annual Conference at significantly reduced price for three separate events:

1. Wednesday, October 2, 5:00-9:00 p.m.. dinner and opening reception, featuring the Voices of Lee, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, USDA-Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell, and a lineup of Chattanooga luminaries to retell the extraordinary environmental history story and current efforts to remake the city as a symbol of environmental sustainability.
Dinner and reception to include Capresé salad, herbed focaccia chicken topped with a roasted garlic cream sauce, sundered tomato orzo pasta, grilled asparagus, fresh rolls from Niedlov's Bakery, and choice of Italian lemon cassata cake or fresh strawberry and white chocolate mousse parfait. $35 fee, preregistration required.

2. Friday, October 4, 7:00 - 10:30 a.m., breakfast in Exhibit Hall D with top alternative vehicles on display and for test driving; the "Electrifying Cars: The Next Five Years" plenary session in the middle of the action in the exhibit hall; and the "Just What Is a Sustainable City?" plenary that follows in the nearby ballroom.
Breakfast to include fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, assorted cereals, toast and coffee, tea, juice and milk. $15 fee, preregistration required.

3. Saturday, October 5, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m., last look at the alternative vehicles and other eye-opening technologies on display in Exhibit Hall D before they are taken down. No fee.

Registration and even walk-ins are allowed after this date, but dinner and breakfast are not guaranteed.
