Event Description
Rediscovered Treasures Santa Fe

The Chicago Arts Orchestra presents a chamber version of the acclaimed Rediscovered Treasures Concert Series for the first time in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Set in the intimate San Miguel Chapel, CAO musicians will collaborate with local harpsichordist Kathleen McIntosh. Sopranos Eleanor Ranney-Mendoza and Ingela Onstad will present arias and duets from the Spanish colonial era that in many cases have never been heard in New Mexico. The ensemble will be joined by Baritone Michael Hix. Don't miss this chance to hear living history.

About the Rediscovered Treasures Series:

Rediscovered Treasures brings to life works of musical art that have been dormant in Mexican archives for centuries. The Chicago Arts Orchestra stands at the forefront of an international movement to bring Latin American colonial repertoire back into public awareness. Mexico alone is home to approximately 8000 un-catalogued works. The Chicago Arts Orchestra merely scratches this proverbial surface; hoping to ignite the intellectual flame of interest in this often overlooked, yet remarkably sophisticated, canon of music.
