Peter Mayer Stars and Promises ~ Echoes of Christmas
2011 marks the 11th year of touring for Peter Mayer’s annual celebration of Christmas, “Stars and Promises”. “Echoes of Christmas” will be a celebration of the Christmas season in story and song. Music has the power to find us in our blurred and busy lives, unwind us from tired habits of living, and remind us of our need for the breath of Hope, Peace and Unity that is found in the gift of Christmas.
In 1999, Peter began work on his first Christmas album, Stars and Promises. Since then, he has returned for 10 successful annual tours, building a tight knit group a group of superb musicians that include; R. Scott Bryan on percussion and vocals, Marc Torlina on bass, Mark Holland, on native flutes, Chris Walters, on keyboard, and Maggie Estes on violin and mandolin.
“Echoes of Christmas” will feature the use of virtual and live choirs, an extensive array of traditional and original Carols that have been part of the Stars and Promises experience, and the state of the art production, a hallmark of Chad Stewart and Stewart Sound. In a year that marks the 10th year anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we will celebrate this year’s Christmas knowing our need is strong as ever, to move forward in Harmony.
