Nellie’s Catwalk for Kids (NC4K) focuses on raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer families. Dollars raised help NC4K directly support pediatric cancer families both emotionally and financially. From the time a child or teen is diagnosed, NC4K is there to be able to put gas in their tank, food on their table and smiles on their faces. Seven years ago NC4K was built from the ground up by a sixteen-year-old girl that goes by the name Nellie in Columbus, Ohio. In an effort to honor her grandma, Goldie, that passed away to cancer she set out on a mission to help families in a fashionable way. Since then thousands of other enthusiastic volunteers have taken a stand with NC4K to help bring childhood cancer to the forefront. Through the years NC4K has been able to serve hundreds of struggling families when they don’t know where else to turn for help. Now, NC4K is working to expand its efforts across the nation by hosting fashion shows from the east coast all the way to the west coast. With over 11 branches already forming NC4K is ready for even more people and businesses to join the NC4K family.

With this exciting expansion also comes a need for more support. The NC4K branch at Kent State University was formed in the spring of 2012 and is growing rapidly. NC4K Kent State University is being led by Junior Kayla Hodnett and hundreds of students. They are many hearts joining together to help plan the first ever local NC4K fashion show.
