Rivers of Steel presents Happy Hour with Carrie!

On the first Wednesday the month through October, enjoy an evening one-hour tour of the Carrie Furnaces site, followed by a beer at one of our local partners. Each month's tour explores a different portion of this National Historic Landmark site, where you will learn about the iron-making process and the impact of the industry on the region and the world, so guests are welcome to come to multiple tours.

Tour starts at 6 PM. Following the tour, head over to the brewery/pub for a crafted brew.

Tickets are $20 and include an hour-long Carrie Furnaces Tour and one beer.

October 7: Rivers of Steel is thrilled to once again host Alloy Pittsburgh, a unique visual and performing arts project co-founded by Pittsburgh artists Sean Derry and Chris McGinnis. Alloy Pittsburgh offers 15 artists from the greater Pittsburgh region the opportunity to develop temporary site-based artworks for the Carrie Furnaces. At our final Happy Hour with Carrie tour, Sean Derry will conduct a tour of the installation art throughout the Carrie Furnaces site.* Beer partner: Brew Gentlemen

*We will also be offering a general guided tour of the Carrie Furnaces on this date. Please note that this tour may repeat information from previous Happy Hour tours.

The Carrie Furnaces are part of a former industrial site. Heels and/or open-toed shoes are not permitted. This is an outdoor event. Please dress appropriately for the weather. At this time the site is not wheelchair accessible.
