Event Description
Silents, Please! Charlie Chaplin in The Pawnshop

2014 marks the 100th Anniversary of the first film appearance of Charlie Chaplin's Tramp character. Help us celebrate as part of our Silents, Please! series with the premiere of a brand new score of THE PAWNSHOP (1916) written and performed by Tom Roberts, plus a 100th Anniversary screening of Chaplin's first film Kid Auto Races at Venice, and more!

Internationally known mime artist and Chaplin expert Dan Kamin, who trained Robert Downey, Jr. for his Oscar-nominated performance as the comedian, will introduce the films.  Kamin will also be on hand to sign copies of his acclaimed book The Comedy of Charlie Chaplin:  Artistry in Motion.

Tickets - $7, $5 for 65+/-12 or students with valid school ID.

This series is supported in part by a Seed Award from the Sprout Fund.
