HARD ROCK CAFE PITTSBURGH FIGHTS BREAST CANCER THROUGH PINKTOBER® WITH BRAS FOR THE CAUSE EVENT

Event to Benefit Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation as Part of 15th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness and Fundraising Campaign

Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh is uniting fans, musicians and survivors in honor of the brand’s 15th annual PINKTOBER® campaign! On Thursday, October 30, 2014, Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh will host Bras For The Cause. The event will benefit Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, an organization that creates awareness for early screening for breast cancer in women under 40.

Bras For The Cause will feature a silent auction with a collection of pink and black bras that have been signed by celebrities who have visited the city in the past year, including Cher, Heart, Barenaked Ladies, Bret Michaels, Neon Trees and Pat Benatar, as well as local heroes Ben Roethlisberger and Neil Walker. The event will also feature live music from City Love Story and The Hobbs Sisters. Admission to the event is $10.

“Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh has been very active in raising awareness, as well as donations, for local charities since opening in Station Square in 2002,” said Hard Rock Cafe General Manager Gary Marasco. “This year, we have put together one of our most original concepts with Bras For The Cause, a year-long effort of collecting celebrity autographed pink bras to auction at our event supporting this special cause.”

About Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation

The Young Women's Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation (YWBCAF) was established in 2005 and became a non-profit 501(c)(3) in December 2009. The grass roots organization based in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh was founded by Jennifer Kehm (diagnosed in 2000 at 36 years of age) and Lisa Edmonds.  The mission of the YWBCAF is to create awareness that women under 40 can get breast cancer, and to educate and support women that have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
