Arthur Miller’s 20th century classic play tells the story of Joe Keller, a captain of industry during World War II, who was imprisoned some years before the play starts for selling faulty parts to an airplane manufacturer, which led to the death of American soldiers. He is later cleared of all charges, though suspicions about his character never leave, and as the play progresses the questions start to plague him. This questioning of the moral fiber of a successful American tycoon helped to land Miller in front of the House Un-American Activities Committee in the 50s. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play.
