Dionne Warwick

Over an illustrious four-decade career, Dionne Warwick has established herself as an international musical legend. Her reputation as a hit maker has been firmly etched into public consciousness, thanks to nearly sixty charted hits. As a performer, she has charmed and entertained audiences on every continent. A true pioneer, Dionne Warwick was the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win a Grammy for Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance, as well as the first to rack up a dozen consecutive Top 100 hit singles from 1963 to 1966.

In recent years, Dionne's pioneering efforts have focused on a wide range of humanitarian causes. Dionne served as US Ambassador for Health throughout the Eighties, and in 2002 she was named a global Ambassador for the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). She continues her work as a socially conscious and concerned global citizen. This unique performance hosted by the Levitt is a testament to Dionne’s continuous commitment as an advocate for non-profit entities that bond communities via the performing arts. This is our first ticketed event and we are extremely honored to be able to present an artist of Dionne Warwick’s caliber.

About Us

In 2003, the Mortimer Levitt Foundation granted the City of Pasadena funds to transform the historic, but abandoned Memorial Park band shell into a top-quality venue suitable for professional performances. A group of dedicated Pasadena residents soon came together as the Friends of the Levitt Pavilion Pasadena, to see the renovation through and develop an annual concert series for the site. The Levitt Pavilion opened for its first concert season that very same year.

Today, we produce an impressive summer season of 50 professional concerts for Southern California families each year, free of charge. Our mission is to enrich family values, encourage community spirit, and promote respect for diversity by providing free public access to the performing arts. To date we have produced 350 concerts, bringing people from all walks of life together to enjoy a shared evening of great music, under the stars. Last season drew over 55,000 attendees. As a result of the band shell’s revitalization and our annual concert series, Memorial Park and the surrounding areas have now been transformed into a safe public venue for families and a thriving hot spot for local businesses. View our website for more information about our organization and our summer concert season.
