The Oilhouse Series
Sat. Nov 12, 2011 at 8:00pm EST (-05:00)
We’re excited to premiere the Oilhouse Series with two AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival favorites! This is the type of programming we plan to present in the Oilhouse at Peoples Natural Gas Park and its outdoor pavilion.
Eric Lindell Trio -- "Stellar, sublime blue-eyed soul and romping New Orleans R&B, played at the same intersection of soul, blues and roots rock as Van Morrison," raves one critic about Eric Lindell. A favorite at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Lindell is accomplished on guitar, harmonica, keyboards and bass, and has performed with many of the Crescent City's top musicians. His live shows draw as much attention as his material. "Eric Lindell is poised for a breakout. He has turned heads everywhere he's gone, almost instantly becoming the talk of the town wherever his musical journey has taken him." Now touring in support of his 2010 release, “Between Motion & Rest,” Lindell played our festival with his band in 2007, and as part of the Louisiana Blues Throwdown in 2003.
Devon Allman’s Honeytribe -- Devon Allman's Honeytribe is much more than just a band fronted by a singer /guitarist of famous heritage (yes, he's the son of Gregg Allman). It's an idea... a feel... a band with serious musicians who simply want to see good music live on and are willing to tour almost 300 dates a year to serve it up worldwide. The trio also includes world-class bassist George Potsos and Gabriel Strange on drums, who is an absolute monster to behold, both in terms of energy and musicianship. The band played the festival in 2010.
Special thanks to Von's United Beverage for helping make this event possible!
