SHADOW LOUNGE PRESENTS: THE OUTDOOR MUSIC SERIES

The acclaimed artist Elzhi (formerly of the group Slum Village) and New York MC Skyzoo, come to The Shadow Lounge on Friday, August 26th. With opening performances from SonnyBoy, Louis Logic, Big Mean Sound Machine, Lifted Crew, and others.
The Shadow Lounge is proud to present Detroit area MC Elzhi, formerly of the group Slum Village, and New York MC Skyzoo for an outdoor concert on Friday, August 26th, at 5pm. Tickets for this special outdoor performance are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets will be available at Shadow Lounge/AVA (East Liberty), 720 Records, Clothing, and Caf�© (Lawrenceville). Time Bomb (Shadyside), and more locations to be announced.
Following the praise he received from an early collaboration with legendary hip hop producer Jay Dee (J Dilla), Elzhi joined the well respected Detroit hip hop group Slum Village in 2002. After years of touring all over the world and performing with groups that have sold over 600,000 albums, Elzhi is positioning himself to become a breakout artist. In May of this year he released his mixtape, �Elmatic� to praise from critics and fans alike. The album utilizes a live band, Will Sessions, to pay homage to Nas� seminal album, �Illmatic�.
Skyzoo, who lists John Coltrane and Nirvana as musical influences alongside rap pioneers, will bring his refreshing style of music to the stage. An artist who dismisses gimmick rap by saying he is fine with making money, but only with dope records. Early in his career, much like Elzhi, he also collaborated with the legendary J Dilla, who has had a profound impact on his career.
The Shadow Lounge has continuously been the most reliable source for live independent acts in Pittsburgh. The end of the month Outdoor Music Series consistently showcases quality MCs, Bands, DJs, and other performers that are internationally known in a fun setting. Now in its 11th year, the East Liberty staple Shadow Lounge has performances that demand attention.
