Please help us support the Cummings family and their unborn child who has been diagnosed with CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia). More information on CDH is provided below.
We will be having live music, DJ, 50/50 raffles, a Chines Auction, and tons of food for sale, with proceeds going to the Cummings Family. Event is BYOB. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free. Tickets will be available at the Yacht Club entrance, as well as in advance from the event organizers or through www.showclix.com
If you cannot attend, you can still donate by purchasing a ticket in advance. Larger donations will be greatly appreciated, and can also be made directly to Mellisa Stull or through our secure, online event ticketing site at www.showclix.com
CDH occurs in approximately 1 in every 2,500 births (1,600 cases in the U.S. each year). The cause of CDH is not yet known. The diaphragm is formed in the first trimester of pregnancy and controls the lungs' ability to inhale and exhale. CDH occurs when the diaphragm fails to form or to close totally and an opening allows abdominal organs into the chest cavity. This inhibits lung growth. Roughly 50% of babies born with CDH do not survive. Of the 50% that do survive, most will endure long hospital stays, feeding issues, asthma and other problems. A few of the survivors suffer from severe long-term medical issues. CDH occurs as frequently as Spina Bifida and Cystic Fibrosis.
We thank you for your generosity, and hope you can attend our event.
