Mr. Devereaux has been in state and local government for over 30 years. Mr. Devereaux became City Manager for the City of Ontario, CA in September, 1997. Working closely with the Mayor and City Council the City embarked on an aggressive program to grow the Cityâs economy. Each of the past 12 years have resulted in substantial surpluses allowing the City to build reserves, fund unfunded liabilities and undertake the most aggressive investment in community facilities in the Cityâs history.
Mr. Devereaux is a Board Member and Past President of the California Redevelopment Association and on multiple California League of Cities committees. He is a member of the advisory committee for the Keston Institute for Public Finance and Infrastructure Policy at USC and is the âvisiting residentâ in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Division of Public Administration residency program at West Virginia University.
Mr. Devereaux was the recipient of the Building Industry Association Baldy View Chapter â 2007 Good Government Award and the American Society for Public Administration Inland Empire Chapter â 2008 Outstanding Senior Administrator, and most recently appointed by the California Air Resources Board to the Regional Targets Advisory Committee on greenhouse gas reduction under SB 375.
