Includes the following films:

Follow Thru

1930. USA. Directed by Lloyd Corrigan, Laurence Schwab. Screenplay by Lew Brown, Lloyd Corrigan, Buddy G. DeSylva, Ray Henderson, Schwab. With Charles “Buddy” Rogers, Nancy Carroll, Jack Haley, Thelma Todd. In Paramount’s second all-Technicolor, all-talking feature—based on a popular 1929 Broadway musical—Charles “Buddy” Rogers (“America’s Boyfriend” and the future Mr. Mary Pickford) and perky Nancy Carroll meet cute on the country club golf links. Comedienne Zelma O’Neal steals the show with her renditions of DeSylva, Brown, and Henderson’s Tin Pan Alley standards “Button Up Your Overcoat” and “I Want to Be Bad.” 35mm restoration courtesy UCLA Film & Television Archive. 92 min.

Little Dutch Mill

1934. USA. Directed and animated by Dave Fleischer. Fleischer Studios. A pet duck saves Hans and Gretel from the clutches of a miserly mill owner in this Dutch Delftware fairy tale come to life, an endearing example of the Fleischer Color Classics series with its marvelous “Turntable Camera” and “Stereo-optical” 3-D effects and inventive use of two-strip Technicolor greens and reds. Bing Crosby’s rendition of the title song was a smash hit in 1934. 35mm print from UCLA Film & Television Archive; courtesy Paramount Pictures. 9 min.

Hello Pop

1933. USA. Directed by Jack Cummings. With The Three Stooges, The Albertina Rasch Girls. This MGM musical revue not only showcases the anarchic antics of The Three Stooges but also The Albertina Rasch Dancers, a troupe that popularized Rasch’s distinct and underappreciated pre-Balanchine and De Mille choreography, for which she became known as “The Czarina of Broadway.” 35mm print courtesy Warner Bros. 17 min.
