This extraordinary epic from Quebec is an emotionally powerful tale of memory, identity, and politics. With novelistic depth, the film begins with a mother's last wishes that send her twins Jeanne and Simon on a journey to the Middle East. These very modern siblings are blissfully unaware of their own roots. But traveling through a relatively peaceful 21st-century Lebanon they learn about their mother’s life during that nation’s long and brutal civil war. It will change them forever. Discussion follows the film with filmmaker/author Michelle Citron and Dr.Maurice Apprey, Ph.D.
