I Got Gershwin!

On the cover of Time magazine at age 26, on the Broadway stage, in Hollywood, from Tin Pan Alley to Paris, George Gershwin dominated the scene of the early twentieth century. Join us for a delightful evening of song, including excerpts from Porgy and Bess, and standards like “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You,” “The Man I Love,” “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off,” and “Love Walked In.” You’ll hear rarities from Hollywood, solo songs, and some of Gershwin’s own piano arrangements and Preludes.

Premier Seating is located in the first six rows of the performance hall and handicapped accessible seating is available in both Premier and General Admission seating sections.

About Our Venue: The Hillman Center for Performing Arts is located on the beautiful campus of Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel just five minutes from Water Works Mall off Route 28. Once you enter the campus through the Shady Side Academy gate on Fox Chapel Road, continue up the hill, and follow signs to the Performing Arts Center. Free parking is available in the Performing Arts parking lot.
