PIX Opening Reception with Special Guest Theo Ellsworth


 


The annual Pittsburgh Indy Comics Expo returns next Saturday, March 22nd and the ToonSeum will be celebrating its arrival with an opening reception for “Theo Ellsworth: Memory and Identity.


 


This exhibit features original artwork from this experimental and otherworldly cartoonist from Missoula, Montana. Mr. Ellsworth will be in attendance to meet with guests and sign his latest books and a special limited edition ToonSeum print.


 


Ellsworth has published several graphic novels including Capacity, Sleeper Car, and The Understanding Monster; all published by Secret Acres, Brooklyn. He's also self-published numerous Art-Zines and Mini comics including Imaginary Homework, Thought Cloud Shrines, Logic Storm and the upcoming publications, Gnome Activity and Antidote.


 


The event begins at 7:30pm on March 21st, 2014 at the ToonSeum.


Admission  to the event is free. 


 


 


About Theo Ellsworth:


 


Ellsworth the house artist for the London based record labels, Space Cadets and Astral Industries and has exhibited his work internationally. His comics and art have been featured in publications such as Best American Comics, Juxtapoz, The Black Forest, and Other Worlds . He lives in Montana with his family and is constantly working on several things at once in his studio, The Thought Cloud Factory.


 


 


About the Pittsburgh Indy Comics Expo (PIX):


 


PIX is devoted solely to creator-owned, self-published, small-press, and handmade comics, artists books and other visual works. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. The event will give Pittsburghers the opportunity to survey and sample a wide variety of works produced by the far ranging talents of the comics artists and cartoonists currently flourishing in the Pittsburgh region as well as meet and interact with the creators themselves.
