Jazz at the JCC continues with pianist Joe Alterman, performing with a top-notch quartet for one night only! Joe has performed at venues around the world including the Blue Note Jazz Club in Milan, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, and Preservation Hall in New Orleans. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Joe moved to New York in the fall of 2007 to study music at New York University, where he recently received his Masters' Degree. He has performed multiple times with his mentor, the legendary tenor saxophonist Houston Person, and he performs frequently at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York, often opening for jazz legends including Ramsey Lewis and Les McCann. In a recent Wall Street Journal feature on Alterman, NEA Jazz Master Nat Hentoff remarked, 'Talk about the joy of jazz!...It's a pleasure to hear this music'...You've got it!' You will not want to miss this evening of elegantly swinging jazz in the Morris and Rae Frank Theatre.
