MSPS New Music Festival 2013
Friday Oct. 11 & Saturday Oct. 12, 2013
Presencing: New Media of the American South
The MSPS New Music Festival 2013 will explore experimental tendencies, legacies, and new directions in music and installation art with origins, roots or associations to the American South.
This year's MSPSNMF 2013 will kick off with the MSPS Prelude: Presented by UnScene on Friday Oct. 11 at 7pm. This evening of activities will take place in an urban alleyway within the bowels of the new Sheveport Common Arts District. This portion of the event will be free and open to the public.
The main evening of the MSPSNMF 2013 will kick into high speed on Saturday Oct. 12 at 7pm. This evening of activities will take place in the magnificent Shreveport Waterworks Museum in the historic McNeill Street Pumping Station which, before decommissioning, was once connected to every home in the city through a vast system of underground pipes. Search and Discover! Doors will open at 7pm, to multiple stages throughout the waterworks. Complimentary food and beverage stations will be provided by Lagniappe Catering and GoGreenly. General Admission is $20, Students with current Student ID $12, and children 10 and under are free.
Onsite Parking at the Shreveport Waterworks Museum is limited. A FREE shuttle will be circulating from overflow parking across Common St. for your convenience!
