Container (US/TN)
Container, the Nashville-based, noise-techno producer, and head of the cassette label I Just Live Here, is a staple in the American noise underground. Gaining recognition with ‘LP’, his vinyl debut released on Spectrum Spools, Ren Schofield is now a highly demanded artist whose singular brand of cacophonous, hardware-based techno is built around undulating tones, furious gabba-like speeds and slower rhythmic arrangements alike. Schofield's part of a sonic dialogue includes American labels such as Future Times and L.I.E.S that help bridge the gap between noise and dance. Combine that with a renewed interest in analog gear and performance by a generation of European DJs like Blawan and the Analogue Cops and you come to see how an unassuming guy who ran a tape label out of his Nashville ranch house comes to be seen as part of a movement.

Richard Pinhas (FR)
Richard Pinhas is recognized as one of France’s major experimental musicians. A composer, guitarist and electronics innovator, he is a key figure in the international development of electronic rock music.

Forma (US/NYC)
Brooklyn cosmic synth trio FORMA (Mark Dwinell, Sophie Lam, George Bennett) merge the propulsion of Krautrock with the hypnotic drones of minimalism to create cyclical, mutative soundscapes above a torrent of live drum machine programming. Working within the technical parameters of late 70’s and early 80’s analog synthesis, FORMA offer reverence and a contemporary response to the futuristic visions conjured at the dawn of modern electronic music.

Pharmakon (US/NYC)
"A dark, visceral, utterly compelling thrill" (Pitchfork) Margaret Chardiet has been making power electronics/ death industrial music under the name Pharmakon for five years. Born and raised in New York City, she is a founding member of the Red Light District collective in Far Rockaway, and has been a figurehead in the underground experimental scene since the age of seventeen.

Aaron Dilloway (US/MI)
Aaron Dilloway (b. 1976) is an experimental musician. He is an improvisor and composer originally from Brighton, Michigan who works with the manipulation of 8-Track tape loops in combination with voice, tape delays and various organic and electronic sound sources. A founding member of the industrial noise group Wolf Eyes (1998 - 2005), Dilloway now resides in Oberlin, OH where he runs Hanson Records and Mailorder. Since 1994 Hanson has been releasing LP's, cassettes, and CD's from artists Wolf Eyes, Emeralds, The Haters, Kevin Drumm, Twig Harper, Andrew Wilkes-Krier, Darksmith, and more.

Unicorn Hard-On (US/TN)
Since 2005, Val Martino (aka Unicorn Hard-On) has been releasing her unique take on the emerging American technoise movement. Martino is now a staple in the scene, having been released on some of the foremost noise labels including I Just Live Here, Hot Releases, and her own Tangled Hares. Resident Advisor’s Justin Farrar describes her productions as “massive, thunderous and out there; at the same time, they're remarkably social and engaging, hurling forth as they do a brain-zap array of neon deliciousness: classic electro, cheerleader moxie, minimal techno, teen pop, glitter rock, Wax Trax!, even schaffel.”

John Elliott (US/OH)
John Elliott does too many things. When he’s not playing as one-third of Ohio experimental outfit Emeralds or as OUTER SPACE, he runs the Spectrum Spools imprint for Editions Mego. The label has made a mark with its distinctive look, indifference to conformity, and desire to bring electronic music (that might otherwise languish forever in tiny cassette and CD-Rs editions heard by only 20 or 30 hardened fans) to a wider audience. From Franco Falsini’s Cold Nose (re-release) to the enervated minimalism of Bee Mask’s Elegy For Beach Friday, to the kosmische derivations of Forma’s self-titled album and No UFOs’ Soft Coast to the droning, or lopsided techno interrogations of Container’s LP, Elliott has consistently intrigued and delighted with his releases, building up a catalog that not only reflects his individual tastes, but also documents an explosion of synthesizer-driven creativity in the US underground that it’s fair to describe as a phenomenon.

John reps Spectrum Spools Wednesday with DJ sets between acts.

Jeremy Bible (US/OH)
Visual artist, musician, and owner of record shop / label / online rag Experimedia, Jeremy’s connection to the underground worlds of electronic music and visual art runs deep. With a growing portfolio of generative audio / visual installations, his video work marries the lo-fi aesthetics of 70s paracinema/experimental film with the more hyper-technical rawness of artists like Ryoji Ikeda.

Experimedia has attention of many selective musical gourmets, representing styles like drone, ambient, experimental, avant-garde and musique concrète. While pushing the boundaries of independent labels and talented musicians to reach the intellectual listener, Jeremy himself has released more than thirteen albums, and is a regular face as a visual artist at art and music events throughout the midwest.
