Reinventing comedy one show at a time!
20-plus year Comedy veteran Matt Wohlfarth (Wolfie) has successfully turned standup comedy into a high-energy interactive game called Comic Wars. Wohlfarth felt there were too many rules in stand-up – sit down, shut up, don’t heckle, laugh when we want you to laugh. Deemed “the Kronk Gym of comedy” by the Pittsburgh City Paper, Comic Wars believes it’s time to tap-out of the old worn-out standup comedy format - taking that paradigm and slamming it on its head. Comic Wars introduces competition to stand-up and solves two problems for club owners: repeat customers and gaining media attention. Comic Wars makes the audience a part of the show by asking them to join in on the fun – heckle and/or talk the comedians, text the show and even vote for the winning comedy team. Comic Wars is nine rounds of heavyweight comedy action in a competitive environment that makes the 90-minute show fly by seamlessly.
