Delivering lyrics with the speed of a bullet train, Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly (also known as MGK) experienced a meteoric rise to stardom in 2011. Born Richard Colson Baker (April 22, 1990) in Texas but raised in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights, MGK began making news in 2009 when he became the first rapper to win amateur night at Harlem’s Apollo Theater. On August 3, 2011, he announced that he signed with Sean “P.Diddy” Comb’s Bad Boy Records imprint and Interescope Records. In 2012, Machine Gun Kelly was featured on the cover of XXL as a member of their annual “Top 10 Freshmen list.” MGK’s debut album, Lace Up, was released October 9th,2012. Known for his wild behavior and over-the-top stage antics.
