Event Description
ANNE CARSON

Anne Carson’s beloved 1999 modern verse novel Autobiography of Red is an unconventional modern adaptation of ancient Greek myths mixed with original narrative that Alice Munro called “…amazing. I haven't discovered any writing in years so marvelously disturbing.” In Autobiography of Red, Carson's protagonist, Geryon, begins writing his autobiography at the age of five. Now, Carson brings Geryon into manhood, with her long awaited release .

Anne Carson was born in Canada and has been a professor of Classics for over thirty years. Her awards and honors include the Lannan Award, the Pushcart Prize, the Griffin Trust Award for Excellence in Poetry, and fellowships from the Guggenheim and MacArthur Foundations.
