"When a child loves you for a long, long time...then you become Real." So says the Horse to the Velveteen Rabbit in Margery Williams' much-loved literary classic. A stuffed toy rabbit, given as a gift to a young boy, yearns for the day the boy will choose him as his special playmate. Through love, devotion and a little bit of magic, he not only becomes a truly cherished toy, but is miraculously transformed into a real woodland rabbit.
The theatrical magic and signature style of Enchantment Theater Company brings this charming tale of friendship and fondness to life. Throw in extraordinary bunraku puppets and masks, and this delightful performance becomes an unforgettable experience for the whole family

Tony, Emmy and Grammy-Award winning composer/arranger Don Sebesky provides the original music score for this captivating tale. Sebesky is world-renowned for his versatile work with popular artists, symphonies, Broadway musicals, films and commercials.

Gloria Nissenson spins lyrics that are impossible not to enjoy. Nissenson’s credits are vast and varied, including a top 10 Country hit, award-winning children’s albums and “Hey Solider,” a celebrated song that has been introduced at a Salute to America evening.
While growing up around the turn of the century, author Margery Williams played with her own beloved toys and felt like they were truly alive. In The Velveteen Rabbit, the universal connection children have with their sewn and stuffed friends reminds both kids and adults that love is enough to make something real.
