Summer Concert Series

Seven years ago, the Villalobos Brothers took a 100-year old dilapidated house in the Marble Hill part of Manhattan and turned it into an artists' community. The grounds of the adjacent empty lot were leveled using rocks and fill from a nearby construction site and an old sailing boat was hauled onto the yard. With help from the community a stage was built and the boat was decorated using acrylics and high gloss polymers. The Summer Concert Series was born out of the spirit of collaboration, music and friendship that has always prevailed at the house. It is a living expression of the talented musicians, writers, composers, painters, sculptors, authors, visual artists, choreographers, philosophers, dancers, mathematicians, poets and teachers of 52 Marble Hill.
