The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh is pleased to present Academy Award® and two-time Grammy® winner Melissa Etheridge live and in concert at its “Pride in the Street” event, on Saturday, June 9

As soon as you arrive, the entertainment for the night never stops! We'll have an opening entertainer, a DJ to dance the night away (so bring your dancing shoes!), and a full 90 minute concert with Melissa and her band on the outdoor stage under the stars on Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh between 9th and 10th streets.

We have several full service bars available serving all the popular libations (so be sure to bring your ID), as well as numerous food booths to satisfy your every food craving.

But of course, the highlight of the night will be Melissa Etheridge who is known for her mixture of confessional lyrics, pop-based folk-rock, and raspy, smoky vocals. Her critically-acclaimed debut album Melissa Etheridge led to an invitation to sing on the 1989 Grammy® Awards broadcast and for several years, her popularity built around such memorable originals as "Bring Me Some Water," "No Souvenirs" and "Ain't It Heavy," for which she won a Grammy® in 1992. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am (1993) which featured the massive hits, "I'm the Only One" and "Come to My Window," which earned her second Grammy® Award for Best Female Rock Performance. In 1995, Etheridge issued her highest charting album, Your Little Secret, which included the hit single, "I Want to Come Over." Her astounding success that year led to Etheridge receiving the Songwriter of the Year honor at the ASCAP Pop Awards in 1996.

Etheridge continued to write, record, and tour throughout the ‘90s and into the new millennium, releasing Skin (2001) and Lucky (2004) along with her DVDs Live And Alone (2002) and Lucky Live (2004). Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, Etheridge made a return to the stage at the 2005 Grammy Awards, bald from chemotherapy, and performed a tribute to Janis Joplin with the song "Piece of My Heart". 2005 marked the release of Greatest Hits: The Road Less Traveled, which includes "I Run for Life," commissioned by Ford Cares as part of their cancer initiative in support of The Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.

In April 2007, Etheridge received the distinguished ASCAP Founders Award and released her ninth studio album, The Awakening, selected by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of its Top 50 Albums of 2007. In 2009, Etheridge released her latest studio album, Fearless Love, to a Top 10 Billboard debut. In 2011, Etheridge also made her Broadway debut as St. Jimmy in Green Day’s rock opera, American Idiot, and received her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

An iconic gay and lesbian activist, Etheridge is the proud recipient of GLAAD's Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which honors openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equal rights.

Come join us on Saturday, June 9 as we turn Liberty Ave between 9th and 10th streets into the hottest party in town!
