Remnick, Kennedy and Cobb

Join Editor of The New Yorker David Remnick, Harvard Law Professor Randall Kennedy, and Rutgers University Professor of Africana Studies Jelani Cobb, for a conversation on the administration of President Obama. All three have written extensively about President Obama and will discuss their respective books. Journalist Farai Chideya will moderate the discussion.

David Remnick is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and editor of The New Yorker magazine. Before joining The New Yorker, he was a reporter and the Moscow correspondent for The Washington Post. In 2010, he published his sixth book The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama.

Randall Kennedy is the Michael R. Klein Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton and his law degree from Yale. He attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar and is a former clerk to Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. He is the author of many books including: The Persistence of the Color Line: Racial Politics and the Obama Presidency; Race, Crime, and the Law, a winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award; and Sellout: The Politics of Racial Betrayal.

William Jelani Cobb, is an Associate Professor of Africana Studies at Rutgers University. He is author of The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress, The Break of Dawn: A Freestyle on the Hip Hop Aesthetic; and The Devil & Dave Chappelle and Other Essays. He served as a delegate and historian for the 5th Congressional District at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
